BIOGRAPHY

I am an abstract painter living and working in London.
Born in 1963, and growing up on the family farm in East Kent, my brightly coloured paintings are inspired by the big skies, luminous sunsets and golden wheatfields of that predominantly flat landscape.
Although at a young age I could paint likenesses of people, I elected to study Agriculture at university, aiming to join the farm business.
After graduation I travelled around Australia, carrying out seasonal work and photographing my adventures. This inspired me to change careers.
On my return I joined BBC Television News, and moved to London where Iworked for many years in the studio on live news programs and later as a video editor.
Visiting galleries and art exhibitions, in particular "Monet in the 90's" and "Picasso Sculptor Painter", inspired me to study art.
I took courses at several London art colleges over a ten year period, gaining A Level Art and completed Foundation Studies at London Guildhall University, (known as the "Aldgate Bauhaus").  I also studied the techniques of the Old Masters, preparing my own oil paints and varnishes.
I have artwork in private collections in Europe, the USA and Australia.
